About the event
t’s official! Permits have been granted and we are a go!
Please join us and we take in the beautiful sights and amazing geology of Anza Borrego State Desert Park. We will start at the Ocotillo Chevron where we will air down and have our drivers meeting promptly at 9am. This will be your last chance for gas, snacks, and a bathroom. From there we will travel a little more than 13 miles to the trail where we will drop into Canyon Sin Nombre, with some amazing geologic features. Canyon Sin Nombre will take us to Arroyo Seco del Diablo which consists of sandy washes and narrow, winding canyons. After exiting the canyons will we arrive at a mesa with a beautiful view of the desert and the famous (insert scary music here ) Diablo Drop Off. Don’t let the name scare you, it’s not as bad as it sounds. It is a semi-steep drop with some ruts. The perfect opportunity to get flexy. Our Black Ops team will be there to help spot anyone that wants it. After Diablo we will enter the one-way “Broken Axel Gultch” (I swear these names are just trying to scare you) which drops off into Fish Creek. Once in Fish Creek we head east until we arrive at our air up spot at Split Canyon Road. We will have lunch on trail.
The following will be required for this run: A positive attitude. A Jeep with 4-wheel drive (stock is fine) A disconnected sway bar. A full size spare tire. All tires must be in good condition. Water (we are in the desert after all) No drugs or alcohol allowed.
As always, our Board and Black Ops are here to help.
If you have any questions, please feel free to ask in the group.
